Gas price in Europe sets record as Gazprom's plant catches fire
MOSCOW, Aug 6 (PRIME) – The gas price in Europe has set a record of more than U.S. $540 for 1,000 cubic meters after a fire on Gazprom's plant, according to the trading data seen by PRIME on Friday.
A Gazprom official said that the company was analyzing the reasons of the accident.
A building at a condensate preparation facility near Novy Urengoi caught fire on Wednesday evening. An official at the regional Emergency Ministry office said that the fire was extinguished as of 6:00 a.m., Moscow time on Friday. Gazprom had to halve gas pumping via the Yamal–Europe pipeline on Thursday due to the accident.
